Netflix Releases Nine New Movies in June

Netflix confirmed the release dates for 13 of its new, original movies in Summer 2021. Netflix has big plans for June and announced the release date for a whopping nine movies.

  • June 2: Carnaval
    • After a breakup, an influencer takes her friends on a free trip to Bahia’s vibrant Carnival, where she learns life’s not just about social media likes. Starring: Giovana Cordeiro, Gkay, & Bruna Inocencio
  • June 9: Awake
    • After a devastating global event wipes out all electronics and eliminated people’s ability to sleep, a former soldier may have found a solution with her daughter. Starring: Ariana Greenblatt, Jennifer Jason Leigh, & Shamier Anderson 
  • June 11: Wish Dragon
    • A working-class college student with big dreams but small means, and Long, a cynical but all-powerful dragon capable of granting wishes, set off on a hilarious adventure through modern-day Shanghai to pursue Din’s long-lost childhood friend, Lina. Voices by: John Cho, Jimmy Wont, Constance Wu, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Will Yun Lee, & Jackie Chan
  • June 11: Skater Girl
    • When a teen in rural India discovers a life-changing passion for skateboarding, she faces a rough road as she follows her dream to compete. Starring: Anurag Arora, Kamlesh Gill, & Amy Maghera 
  • June 18: Fatherhood
    • In this heartwarming, funny, and emotional true story, Kevin Hart stars as a widower taking on one of the toughest jobs in the world: fatherhood. Starring: Kevin Hart, Alfre Woodard, & Lil Rel Howery.
  • June 18: Jagame Thandhiram
    • When a clever, carefree gangster is recruited to help an overseas crime lord take down a rival, he is caught off guard by the moral dilemmas that follow. Starring: Dhanush, Aishwarya Lekshmi, & James Cosmo
  • June 23: Good on Paper
    • Good on Paper centers the story of a stand-up comic who meets the ideal man — or at least, that’s what he seems to like. As the streamer asks, “On paper, he checks all the boxes but is he everything he appears to be?” Only a Netflix session will reveal the answer to that one. Staring: Iliza Shlesinger.
  • June 25: The Ice Road
    • After a remote diamond mine collapses, a big-rig ice road driver must lead an impossible rescue mission over a frozen ocean to save the trapped miners. Staring: Liam Neeson, Laurence Fishburne, Ray McKinnon & Marcus Thomas.
  • June 30: America: The Motion Picture
    • A chainsaw-wielding George Washington teams with beer-loving bro Sam Adams to take down the Brits in a tongue-in-cheek riff on the American Revolution. Starring:  Channing Tatum, Olivia Munn, & Andy Samberg.
